Dr Sarah Orton, PhD

Dr Sarah Orton has been involved in academic clinical research for over 20 years. She completed her PhD and Post-Docs at the University of Oxford, before returning to Canada. She is currently an assistant professor in Calgary, Canada, and is involved in both teaching and research. Her research interests range from molecular biology to human reproduction, with a special interest in vitamin D. Dr Orton developed an interest in fertility research following her own personal journey and she aims to raise awareness about infertility and assisted reproductive technology. Her interest in teaching about human reproductive health extends beyond lectures, as she is passionate about helping non-scientists better understand the science related to fertility. While Dr Orton has authored/co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, her passion remains communicating complex biological concepts, particularly published research, to a general audience.
